Automated Install Wizard

One-click install (fully automated)

Extract a zip, run one batch file, reboot when told. The Win7 office installer handles KB updates, VxKex, Python 3.11, VC++ redistributables, stability policies, and SnipeOffice itself.

Prefer installing prerequisites yourself? See Manual Install.

Scenario A: Windows 7 SP1 x64 (Office + Browser)

  1. Download snipeoffice25win7.zip
  2. Extract anywhere (Desktop is fine)
  3. Open snipeoffoce25win7\ and right-click Install-SnipeOffice-Win7.batRun as administrator
  4. Reboot when prompted; re-run the batch if it asks
  5. After the final reboot, launch SnipeOffice Writer from the desktop shortcut
  6. Download and run Snipe Browser installer (or use the portable ZIP)
Patience: The office installer runs 13 steps. Some steps sit still for a minute or two while KB updates and VxKex register. This is normal. Check install-log.txt in the bundle folder if unsure.

Scenario B: Windows 7 SP1 32-bit (Browser only)

  1. Confirm Service Pack 1 is installed
  2. Install KB3080149 and KB4019990 if not already present (see Manual Install)
  3. Download installer or portable ZIP
  4. Run setup or extract portable to your preferred folder
The SnipeOffice Win7 bundle is x64-only. For office on legacy hardware, use a 64-bit Win7 install or see our Windows 7 SP1 site.

After install

  • First launch of Writer may be slow while profiles and font caches build
  • If VxKex reports a missing KB: reboot and run Install-SnipeOffice-Win7.bat as admin again
  • Duplicate desktop shortcuts: run Remove-Installer-Desktop-Shortcuts.bat from the bundle
